Award-winning film director Vipin Agnihotri, known for his impactful work on social awareness projects, has teamed up with prominent social activist Dabir Siddiqui to launch a powerful campaign aimed at exposing and eliminating corruption within the Culture Department of Uttar Pradesh. The initiative seeks to bring transparency, accountability and justice to an area meant to preserve and promote the state’s cultural heritage.
The campaign, titled “Speak Up for Culture Integrity”, will involve public awareness drives, media interactions, petitions, documentary-based evidence, and ground-level mobilization to highlight long-standing issues affecting artists, cultural workers, and public funds.
Speaking about the initiative, Vipin Agnihotri stated,
"The culture department is supposed to be the backbone of artistic and historical identity. Unfortunately, corruption, favoritism and financial misuse have deeply affected genuine talent. Our fight is not against individuals but against a broken system. We want accountability, fairness and respect for real artists.”*
Renowned activist Dabir Siddiqui added,
"The corruption in the department has deprived countless cultural contributors of opportunities and resources meant for them. It’s time for a transparent system where funds and programs benefit the deserving. We are launching this campaign for justice and will not step back until action is taken.”
The campaign will include public meetings, digital activism, a signature movement, and filing official complaints with relevant authorities. The initiative is expected to gather massive support from artists, cultural organizations, students, and citizens concerned for the integrity of Uttar Pradesh’s heritage.
