<p>The Gaekwads of Baroda are the owners of Laxmi Vilas Palace, the biggest private house in the world, which is situated in Gujarat. Buckingham Palace, the home of the British Royal family, is four times smaller than Laxmi Vilas Palace. The people of Baroda still hold the royal family in the highest regard; the Gaekwads were formerly the state’s ruling dynasty. The head of the former royal family is HRH Samarjitsinh Gaekwad, who is married to Radhikaraje Gaekwad.</p>

<p>Laxmi Vilas Palace is 3,04,92,000 square feet in size, whereas Buckingham Palace is 828,821 square feet, according to an article on Housing.com. Antilia, Mukesh Ambani’s opulent Mumbai mansion, is the most expensive house in the world at Rs 15,000 crore. It spans 48,780 square feet.</p>
<p>Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III constructed Gujarat’s Laxmi Vilas Palace, which includes more than 170 rooms, in 1890. When the palace was constructed, it cost around GBP 180,000. There is a golf course in Laxmi Vilas Palace as well.</p>
<p>Radhikaraje Gaekwad, a native of Gujarat’s Wankaner state, was born on July 19, 1978. In order to become an IAS official, her father, Dr. MK Ranjitsinh Jhala, renounced his royal title.</p>
<p>Radhikaraje Gaekwad has a master’s degree in Indian history from Delhi University’s renowned Lady Shri Ram College and enjoys writing and reading.</p>
<p>Radhikaraje Gaekwad was a journalist before she wed Maharaj Samarjit Singh Gaekwad in 2002. In 2012, Samarjit Singh Gaekwad received the Baroda crown in a customary ceremony conducted at Laxmi Vilas Palace.</p>
