A former employee of Google, who left the firm last week after eighteen years, criticized CEO Sundar Pichai in a harsh blog post, claiming that the latter’s “lack of visionary leadership” is to blame for the “deterioration” of the company’s culture.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-288521″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-ceo-sundar-pichai-is-criticized-by-an-ex-google-employee-for-lacks-visionary-leade.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com ceo sundar pichai is criticized by an ex google employee for lacks visionary leade” width=”1155″ height=”633″ title=”CEO Sundar Pichai is criticized by an ex-Google employee for "lacks visionary leadership" 6″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-ceo-sundar-pichai-is-criticized-by-an-ex-google-employee-for-lacks-visionary-leade.jpg 303w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-ceo-sundar-pichai-is-criticized-by-an-ex-google-employee-for-lacks-visionary-leade-150×82.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1155px) 100vw, 1155px” />

After working on HTML and associated standards for his first nine years at Google, Ian Hickson spent the past nine working on Flutter. Even though he called the early stages of Google “an excellent place to work,” problems started to arise with Flutter, despite the fact that he said that some of his “fondest memories” came from the early stages of the project.

I’m not aware of any Google employees that could articulate the company’s goal at this time. There is a record low in morale. Therapists in the San Francisco Bay Area will inform you that all of their Google clients are dissatisfied with it, he stated.

Hickson went on, saying, “Sundar Pichai’s lack of visionary leadership and his obvious lack of interest in upholding the standards of early Google are the root causes of many of these problems today.”

Claiming that this has resulted in a “spreading contingent of inept middle management,” the former employee took special aim at Jeanine Banks, the head of the division that oversees Flutter, Dart, and Firebase projects.

“Her (Banks) comprehension of the work her teams are doing is at best limited; she often submits demands that are wholly irrelevant and nonsensical. She dehumanizes engineers by treating them like commodities. She is totally incapable of taking constructive criticism, according to Hickson.

Nonetheless, he maintained his optimism, pointing out that the business could still mend itself, even if this meant a “shake-up” at the top, with authority being transferred to a new leader who had a “clear long-term” vision for the tech giant headquartered in Mountain View, California.
