Data breach at Taj Hotel puts almost 1.5 million patrons at danger

<p>According to the reports, “Dnacookies, the perpetrator, is requesting $5,000 for the entire dataset, which includes addresses, membership IDs, mobile numbers, and other personally identifiable information (PII).” “We have received information about an individual claiming to be in possession of a small, non-sensitive customer data collection. “We place the utmost priority on the safety and security of our customers’ data,” said a representative of Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), the company that manages the Taj Group.</p>
<p>“We have alerted the appropriate authorities and are looking into this issue. The representative said, “We keep an eye on our systems, and there’s no indication of any security issues that might affect company operations either now or in the future.</p>
<p>Delhi Police has not yet acknowledged whether or if the Taj Group has filed a case, however.</p>
