Geetanjali Om Parkash and Dr. Sehar Om Parkash Make Historic Cannes Debut: A Saas–Bahu Duo of Power, Grace and Global Style

When Geetanjali Om Parkash and Dr. Sehar Om Parkash stepped onto the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival 2026, they did more than arrive — they made history. The mother-in-law–daughter-in-law duo represents two generations of achievement: Geetanjali, a 59 year old  icon who recently won Mrs. International World Classic 2026, and Dr. Sehar, an award‑winning surgeon, entrepreneur and UMB Mrs India 2025 winner bound for Mrs Universe 2026. Together they rewrote expectations about age, ambition and Indian presence on global stages.

Geetanjali’s journey is a study in resilience and leadership. As Managing Director of the Dr. Om Parkash Group of Eye Institutes, she has helped steer an institution with a six‑decade legacy in eye care, while carving an increasingly visible international identity through pageantry and advocacy. Her Cannes gown, christened “Midnight Fortress,” spoke the language of authority: a strapless sculpted bodice flowing into tiered, architectural peplums in deep black, punctuated with subtle diamond accents and a dramatic draped collar. The look—part couture, part armor—framed her presence as quiet yet undeniable power. Winning titles like Mrs. Empowerment and Most Exotic National Costume earlier in 2026 only amplified the symbolism: age is not a limit but a platform.

Dr. Sehar Om Parkash brings a complementary but distinct narrative: elite medical credentials and global fashion credentials fused into one public persona. A maxillofacial, oculoplasty and aesthetic surgeon who earned a Gold Medal in her master’s program, Sehar leads surgical practice, research and innovation as Executive Director of the family’s ophthalmic group. Beyond medicine she has become a rising international face in fashion—having walked Paris and Milan runways and collaborated with haute couture names. For Cannes she selected “Pantheon Aurorae,” a luminous silver‑blue gown inspired by dawn over the sea, with crystal embellishments, sculpted corsetry, pearls and organza details that created movement like waves. The dress was a personal statement—Sehar, whose name evokes first light, wearing a design that married strength and softness.

Their joint Cannes debut is larger than couture and crowns. It symbolized intergenerational female ambition: Geetanjali proving that a woman at the age of 59 can win global pageants and headline international events, and Sehar demonstrating that excellence in medicine can coexist with global fashion influence and entrepreneurship. Together they represent modern India — professional rigor, philanthropic commitment, and aesthetic courage.

Off the red carpet both remain committed to healthcare and humanitarian causes: free eye camps, prosthetic eye programs, and support for survivors of violence. Their presence at Cannes 2026 was a cultural moment — not just an appearance, but a statement: resilience wears many forms, and together a mother‑in‑law and daughter‑in‑law can create history.
